Andrea Hill
Originally a Jersey girl, I moved south almost a decade ago as a single mom of four. Today, I’m a married mom of 7 who enjoys reading, concerts, and the beach as self care practices. After teaching for five years, I saw a great need in our community and became a mental health counselor serving Polk and Rutherford counties. I am currently working on my PhD in trauma with a focus on somatic healing, hoping to apply what I learn to both clients in office and on the mat.
Yoga, for me, is the ability to drop down and out of the “noise,” to find a place of inner peace. I once thought it was about achieving perfect poses in the ideal body. Through my training I learned that yoga transcends physical movement; it’s a personal journey accessible to all bodies. My approach focuses on functionality rather than pushing limits, aiming to help students release tension and enhance their overall well-being off of the mat.
As a mental health therapist and a mom of seven, my classes are infused with empathy and encouragement, and an emphasis on breath work and guided meditations to nurture the mind, body, and spirit. My objective is to guide students away from stress responses and into a state of relaxation.
