PILATES EQUIPMENT SESSIONS
-
Pilates is a dynamic movement system based on the exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates. Click HERE to learn the interesting history of how Pilates came to be what it is today!
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility. Pilates moves tend to target the trunk muscles (core), although the exercises work all other areas of your body as well. You will often see small props used like resistance bands, balls, foam rollers or weights used to enhance the workout.
The focus of Pilates is on quality of movement, rather than quantity so that no muscle group is overworked or neglected and the body is worked as a whole. The remarkable design of the equipment both challenges and supports the body as it learns to move more efficiently, powerfully, and fluidly. The spring resistance provided will help you build both strength and flexibility and can be adjusted for the individual.
During a personalized session, you will experience Classical Pilates with a contemporary/holistic approach.
We will use the Reformer, Cadillac, Stability Chair, Ladder Barrel and Mat Pilates to create a well balanced, total body workout. Whether you are looking for help recovering from an injury, training for an athletic event or just keeping your body in balance we are here to support your wellness journey!
